WWWoW- world wide weaving of women

Concept
Doro Seror and Susanne Thieman weave and plait in Munich and in the country, one with old clothes, the other coming from the basket weaving workshop with recycled basket weaving materials. The Ukrainian Israeli Kathie Halfin weaves delicate structures and uses them in her performances. The US American Frid Branham weaves, knots, knits and crochets bizarre structures.
These women will meet in the WWWOW project and weave and network together. The aim is to create works of art together with the audience in workshops and public interactions that will be symbolic of analogue networking, which has been neglected in times of the pandemic. Haptic contact with the material and contemplative work with the hands encourages people to tell each other personal things and to get to know each other better, i.e. to create intensive and lasting connections. The artists will explore weaving, knotting, braiding and knitting in different locations.
Installations testify to their work, but ephemeral actions also involve visitors. In the course of the project, new connections can arise and people who enjoy handicrafts can join the aim is to set up a large weaving and knotting work in cooperation with the visitors, which bears witness to the connecting elements of this cooperation.
These first "web" contacts are to spread over the entire globe in the future.
WWWOW1 is the first self-contained project in a whole series of different connections with weaving women from other countries and customs. An analogue network in the truest sense of the word is to be created.
